Design Feature: Royal Crown Derby

Royal Crown Derby is a long established brand that specialises in creating beautiful home accessories perfect for brightening up any style interior. The history of the company dates back to before 1750 when Andrew Planche established the first china works in Derby. Shortly after that, he began to collaborate with William Duesbury and together they produced high-quality china that has been accessorising homes since. Today, the brand employs 200 craftspeople and manufactures the highest quality English fine bone china in its factory in Derby, England. Their pieces are truly royal and it is no surprise Queen Victoria granted the company permission to include the title ‘Royal’ in its company name in 1890. 

The brand is well known for their exquisite collection of tableware; the Mikado Plate in Blue is an especially renowned design which boasts a unique blue and white aesthetic thought to have been used by romantic novelist Jane Austen. The design has been given a 21st-century makeover, and today will suit all kinds of interior, making for an excellent addition to any designer dining table.
