London Design Week 2018, Chelsea Harbour

Last week, London became the design capital of the world as interior designers, architects, taste makers and interior enthusiasts from across the globe flocked to the famous glass dome in the Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour. And I was there too. Of course!

There was plenty to see and as always, very little time. With more than 100 events, designer-led talks, presentations, workshops and demonstrations I had to be meticulous about my time but coffee before anything! I fell in love with the lilac infused space that although was a little chilly, it was the perfect spot to gather my thoughts and start my adventure.

First up, I wen to say hello to one of our favourite brands. They’re the epitome of British design with an unexpected twist of colour, pattern and unique style: Julian Chichester. I’m greeted with a smile by their wonderful team, a glass of bubbly an explosion of colour. See for yourself…

I must admit, it’s hard to leave their beautiful showroom. They’ve got classic pieces like the Paris table lamp and the Bacco floor lamp, alongside their stunning sideboards. A quirky nod to flamingoes catches my eye before I head out to my next stop: Georgetti and Ceccotti.

I’ve had my eye on these two brands for a while, and today I get to speak to them and gush over at how much I adore their collection. The sinuous smooth bent wood forms that are a constant through their pieces is simply divine. You want touch every piece. And of course, I do. After a fruitful conversation with the powers that be, all I can say is watch this space!

A little detour to one of my favourite upholstery brands Romo gives me enough inspiration to feel like I can create anything I want! I’m in textile heaven from the moment I step foot in front of the Kirby Design collection. Graphics, patterns, texture and colour, is there anything better?

A visit to London Design Week 2018 is incomplete without attending some of their fab ‘In Conversation’ events. My highlight was listening to and meeting Ham Yard Hotel founder and designer Kit Kemp. We spoke interiors, hotels and puppy love. I mean, have you seen the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City?
