We’ve lost count of all the years we’ve been going to Milan for this magnificent week. Actually, we haven’t, it has been nine years, and it never ceases to amaze us. This year there was a great focus on sustainability and the installations and exhibitions across town were abundant. For now, let’s talk about the micro trends we spotted across the Fiera di Milano and Fuorisalone, which are always indicative of future trends to come.

Jungle Fever

Greenery that evokes tropical weather combined with golden pieces were not to be missed as you walked down the halls. Seen here at the Opinion Ciattistand and some of Marc Antonio’s designs.

Pink Protest

Pink has become the colour of feminism – we think – even beyond millennial pink, it continues to appear within the most established brands and emerging ones. Norman Copenhagen’sstand was one of our favourite’s and had some pink beauties in display.

Neon-tastic

We spotted this one last year at the Fiera di Milano but we’re glad to see it again at Fuorisalone as it brightens up our day! The exhibition by Sasha Bikoff for Versace Home was out of this world. The neon glory was also shared by Norman Copenhagen and the Campana Brother’s for Louis Vuitton for the Objet Nomades collection. Isn’t it stunning?

Block Party

The use of solid colours was everywhere and as much as we love patterns and textures, there is something quite zen about using one colour. Pedrali got this spot on and we’re hoping to bring it to you very soon!

Lighten Up

Our founder and CEO, Sherry, sums it up best “it seems the world needs hope, and all the lighting brands and beautiful chandeliers that make us look up are a reflection of this.”
