Yas-Ming Ceramics is a collaboration between two talented former university students, Yasmin Dilekkaya and Ming Wai Sun. Every item is designed by the duo, who have been working together since they graduated from their Applied Arts course at University. Their work stemmed from mixing their own individual practices in an attempt to make products that would sell in a University fundraiser, but it eventually evolved and developed with new products being added. All of the products are made in Britain, in Wai Sun and Dilekkaya’s Kent studio and in a small factory in Stoke-on-Trent.
Yas Ming Ceramics have created an irresistibly charming and quirky dish, which has a rat head peeking out from the center.
Handcrafted in England, the design process involves slip casting, press moulding and hand building techniques to delicately create this adorable piece where classic meets eccentric. The animal is carefully joined to the white china glazed dish by the hands of designers Ming Wai Sun and Yasmin Dilekkaya, who bring these whimsical creations to life.
