Atipico is a project that breaks the mould of design to make it part of everyday life. Strictly ‘made in Italy’, it seeks to make every aspect of our daily lives more beautiful. There is continuous research behind the Atipico project, a rewarding dialogue with young designers, a rich exchange of ideas and a joint effort that brings together visions, concepts, practices and techniques. Collaborating designer Antonino Sciortino began learning the blacksmith’s trade in his brother’s workshop and 2003 joined the Compagnia del Giardino in Milan to embark on a new artistic phase – the constant exploration of iron processing. His creations are inspired by the unusual use of annealed wire, which can resemble wood or plastic.
This incredibly stylish console table has elegantly been made of hand wrought iron and features a long rectangular shaped top, resting on four dramatic triangular shaped legs. The vibrant colouring enhances the dynamic style of this minimal design.
