The Artemide Group is a global leader in lighting. Since it was founded in the 1960s, Artemide has taken pride of place in some of the most illustrious illumination and furniture shops around the world, whilst its lamps have become an icon of contemporary design. Appearing in most museums of modern art and design, the brand has become synonymous with Italian design, class and innovation. Italian born Ludovico Magistretti (1920- 2006), enrolled with the Faculty of Architecture at the Royal Polytechnic in Milan in 1939. Since then, and throughout his busy and highly successful career, he has made many indents on the Italian architectural world. A founding father of Italian Design, he joined forces with the likes of Artemide and Cassina, to create many classics of modern day production.
