Gloster first started making furniture over fifty years ago in West Africa for local market consumption. With an ethical conscience behind, they started using discarded branches and tree stumps that would otherwise have been burnt, to make the smaller components. In 1981, they started exporting furniture all around the world and moved production to Indonesia to have access to teak plantations only available there. Today, Gloster is one of the ultimate outdoor furniture British brands. German designer Mathias Hoffmann set up his own design studio in 1980. While specializing in product design, Hoffman also worked in the fields of retail, international fair booth design, new product development and architectural design. He is best known for his numerous upholstered furniture, beds, chairs and tables for companies such as De Sede, Lloyd / Flanders, Maximilian and Gloster.
The Gloster Bepal Set Lounge Chair and Footstool flaunt a unique and contemporary woven look, with a curved design that invites you to sit in comfort.
