The renowned Dutch company of designer furniture Artifort and designer Pierre Paulin collaborated to create this stunning chair. Pierre Paulin was a French furniture and interior designer who was renowned for making chairs using foams and metallic frames with stretch materials. Paulin’s quirky designs have influenced famous designers such as Olivier Mourgue, whose designs have been featured in Stanley Kubrick's classic film 2001: A Space Odyssey.
This quirky and unique design is inspired by the sliced sections of an orange. The slices consist of two completely identical shells of pressed beech, covered with foam, on a chromed metal tubular base. Viewed from different angles, the chair shows various stages of ‘uncurling’ and appears to change shape every time you look at it. The junior version offers brighter injections of colour and a smaller size. A range of colours are available - please contact us for more information.
