René Holten (1961- ) is a graduate of the Design Academy in Eindhoven. He made his first design for Artifort (the DoDo) in 1997, and since made a deep impression on Artifort's collection. Holten reflects his enjoyment of Artifort's clean, sober lines in his own designs.
The Libel fits the Artifort tradition perfectly. Simple, contemporary and timeless. Though it more than carries its own as a free-standing chair, the Libel can also be linked in a row using a metal hinged linkage that enables concave and convex curves.
