Founded in 1952, MOROSO design sofas, armchairs and accessories with well-known designers such as Ron Arad, Carlo Colombo, Enrico Franzolini, Marc Newson, Toshiyuki Kita and Patricia Urquiola. The company was the first producer of upholstered furniture in Italy to receive the ISO 9000 certification for firm management and the ISO 9001 certification for design, production and customer service.
The Ukiyo side table by Tomita Kazuhiko for Moroso has been created to reflect 'Ukiyo' - the temporality of being. A lightweight frame made from steel wire carries a loud decorative table top to balance the design; traditional Kimono fabric in combination with polyester resin is pressed into shape to create the table's surface.
