Normann Copenhagen was started in 1999 by Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen. They have created a brand that works with a large number of Danish and international designers who each have their own unique perspective when it comes to design. All the designers have their own process whether it is working with glass, clay or digital programs to create their designs. They all share a love for contemporary design and products that challenge conventional thinking. Simon Legald, a graduate of The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, creates both small and large-scale products that create a connection between craftsmanship and industry. He likes to display the techniques used to create the structure of a piece on the design itself in a visually striking way, which makes the product understandable and honest.
The Era Collection takes its inspiration from sharp lines and contemporary silhouettes. It has been designed to “transcend generations”, to feel at home with someone of any age. The collection is durable and long-lasting whilst being suitable for a modern interior that needs flexibility. The Era two-seater sofa has sharp lines and a contemporary silhouette that brings to mind the simplicity and functionalism of the 1930s and ‘40s. Its soft curves have been created for maximum comfort. The leg structure comes in either chrome or steel.
