Elvis and Kresse have been reclaiming heroic materials ever since they discovered the London Fire Brigade’s decommissioned fire hoses back in 2005. Fire hoses are discarded after 25 years of fighting fire and saving lives and would go to landfill, but with their innovative design they have rescued over 200 tonnes so far. They aim to challenge perception, prove value and respect for found materials. They ensure materials that would be incinerated or languish underground have a second life that is as long as possible. The company donates 50% of their profits from the fire hose collection to the Fire Fighters Charity. It is no surprise they have been chosen as a ‘Walpole Brand of Tomorrow 2012’ and have had their products featured on the cover of American Vogue.
