Scandinavian brand Gubi are the treasure hunters of our generation. Based in Copenhagen's docklands, and fuelled by a passion to uncover overlooked icons from the past and future icons in the making, Gubi are a serious design force receiving international recognition for their work. The result is an eclectic, international collection that blurs the lines between the past and the future, chasing forgotten icons from the 30's to the 70's. Joaquim Ruiz Millet (1955 - ) created Galeria H20 in Barcelona in 1989, where he grew his personal repertoire as gallery owner, cultural agitator, curator of exhibitions, and editor of books and design objects. Whilst renovating La Pedrera in 1991, he uncovered the majesty of the great floor lamp (PD2) saving it from being thrown away. He contacted Barba Corsini, who became his mentor, in order to relaunch the original designs from 1955.
A modern design with a functionalist influence traceable back to Antoni Gaudi, the ABC Pedrera Table lamp by Ruiz Millet embodies a 'powerful simplicity'. The lamp is made from perforated sheet metal, which wraps into a cylindrical shape. In Black.
