19 Greek street was started as a space for experimentation and advancement in design and has organically evolved into a culture club - a collective - gathering design minds who think alike.
Today the company are a multispace- home to an interior design studio (who’s client list includes Vivienne Westwood and Marc Jacobs) a design showroom/cafe featuring pieces from 19 Greek Street's 9 collections, a complete materials library- Materials Council (who’s team formerly managed Norman Foster’s own in-house library) their own material workshop, turning waste and disregarded items from the streets into tiles and surface materials for architecture, and of course a gallery space showcasing innovative and future-focused design.
19 Greek Street’s Re-Imagined Low Chair series by Nina Tolstrup is a project born out of questioning our resourcefulness and attitudes towards waste. It builds on Studiomama’s interests in expediency and re-using the existing, and speaks of our ability to see the potential in the overlooked and unloved. Production process: chairs were stripped down to their bare frames, re-welded, and powder-coated in vibrant colours. The frames and padded seats came together to gave birth to Re-Imagined’s simple yet fun aesthetic. Available in a variety of colours.
