The Artemide Group is a global leader in lighting. Since it was founded in the 1960s, Artemide has taken pride of place in some of the most illustrious illumination and furniture shops around the world, whilst its lamps have become an icon of contemporary design. Appearing in most museums of modern art and design, the brand has become synonymous with Italian design, class and innovation. Michele De Lucchi studied architecture at Padua University and then Florence University, getting his diploma in 1975. In 1978 he went to Milan to work for Kartell as a designer, and in 1987, alongside Giancarlo Fassina, he designed the best-selling Tolomeo range of lamps for Artemide.
The Tolomeo Mega Terra is a grand and beautifully engineered floor lamp. Its cantilevered arms and base are in polished aluminium and its diffuser is in parchment paper. The diffuser comes in three sizes and is adjustable in all directions.
